Happy Birthday, Memaw!!

Saturday is Memaw's birthday!! We all love Memaw! Georgia Anne and Jack always look forward to going to visit Memaw. I must say, I have the best mother-in-law I could have ever asked for! Cathy is always willing to help me out whenever I need her, and she is the most laid-back and sweet person! We all hope Memaw has a wonderful birthday, and we are all very thankful for her!

Two little mischevious kiddos..

I've got two little stinkers that are always into something! Basil, Tori's pug, has made her way back to Tallassee for a week. I found Jack and Georgia locked in her crate....I promise I didn't put them there! LOL (although sometimes that is tempting) Then this morning I was on the phone with Mom, when Jack left the room. After a few minutes of him gone, I got off the phone. I found him in the kitchen, with the entire bag of dog food dumped on the floor, and the three of them, P.J., Basil and him, eating the dog food. I didn't get a picture of him eating the dog food...thank goodness. I about died! I have one child who won't eat anything, and another who will eat anything that remotely looks edible!

Tree's Baby Shower

Sunday, Georgia Anne and I headed to Birmingham for Tree's baby shower and to meet little Isabella for the first time! We had the BEST time! Tree's sister, Veronica, hosted the shower at her beautiful house. For those of you who didn't know, my uncle Russ and his wife Tree, adopted a baby about a week ago. The baby shower was the perfect way to shower Tree and Isabella with all the things a little girl needs, as well as a great way for everyone to meet Isabella! She is the sweetest little baby...she didn't make a peep the entire time we were there. It was such a special day for them. Isabella was baptised at 8:30 mass and then the shower was that afternoon. All of Russ and Tree's closest friends and family were there, as well as the foster mom and her daughter who kept Isabella during the 15 day waiting period before the adoption was legal. As I write this, I have tears streaming down my face because I am so happy for them, and it was such a blessing to see how happy and complete they are as a family now.

Isabella and Georgia

When Georgie finally got her hands on little Isabella, she hogged her. She looked at every inch of her, from her eyes, feet, inside her mouth (she had to check and see if she had any teeth). She especially liked her hair, which is as soft as silk. She "petted" her for a long time. When Tori asked her if she could hold her, Georgia replied,"I'm not finished. When I get done, Toe Toe."

Typical Jack

For most of my day, except during nap time, I have a little shadow that cries and has arms that extend upward. These are two all too familiar sites for me. Jack is a little Mama's boy whose feet rarely touch the ground! I think it is sweet and I know I better enjoy it now, because later I know things will be different and I'll wish I could see those little arms reaching up for me with that sad little distressed face!

Gotta love livin' in Tallassee!!

First let me start by apologizing in advance to anyone who might be offended by this post, but this is just too good not to post! As I was driving through Tallassee yesterday, I got behind this truck and luckily I had my camera in the seat next to me. I know it is hard to see all of the lovely stickers and "things" attached to this vehicle, so I will help clear things up. First you'll notice the 20 Tony Stewart sticker...need I say more. Then there is a nice confederate bra with "Dixie Cups" written across it. Then if you look on the bumper, there are several key points of interest. First a bumper sticker which reads, "American by Birth, Southern by the Grace of God", then another which reads,"When you have them by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow" and then to top it off, a nice pair dangling from the bumper! Like my post title states....You Gotta Love Livin' in Tallassee! Maybe this isn't any ones relative that is reading this....

Teething Relief

Little Jack has had the worst time teething. His four eye teeth are slowly coming in and the past few weeks have been rough for him. He definetly has had a hard time with all of his teeth, unlike his sister, who I would find a new tooth with no apparent signs of teething. His gums have been so swollen and red and last night he was having an especially hard time. As I was putting the teething gel on his gums, I finally felt that one had broke through. Yeah!! (I get so frustrated living in Tallassee, home of the world's smallest Wal-Mart.....no teething tablets for TWO weeks) In a fit of crying and gnawing on his hand, Michael had a great idea to froth the boy some milk. Yes, I said froth him some milk. Michael has a fancy cappuccino machine and is always making coffee drinks, which both of the kids love. So Michael frothed some milk and vanilla syrup for the pitiful little creature. As suspected, his crying stopped as soon as he saw his treat. I got tickled at his little "Hitler" looking white mustache. We would take a picture of him, then show him the picture of himself on the camera and he would just chuckle and laugh. No teething tablets, no problem....Jack prefers frothed milk!!

Princess Birthday Party

Saturday, Georgia Anne was invited to Madeleine Mullin's princess birthday party. All the girls had to wear their favorite princess dress. When we arrived, they all had new jewelry to wear. They had their fingernails painted, hair and make-up done, as well as a good dose of glitter applied! They were served cheese straws, sandwiches, white-chocolate dipped pretzels, cookies, cake and punch. It was quite the affair and they had the best time!!

Children's Choir

Last Sunday night, the Children's Choir sang at church. Georgia LOVES choir and has the best time when they sing in "big church." Ms. Dana, the choir director, does a wonderful job with these children!!
