Alabama National Fair

It's that time of year again.....time for the Alabama National Fair! We went this past weekend and the kids had a blast!! Daniel really liked the two rides he was big enough to ride. Georgie's favorite was the swings, and Jack the race cars. Jack is still to small to ride a lot of the rides, and cried when Georgie got to ride and he didn't. I don't have any pictures of all the food we ate, but it was good (and very unhealthy). We got so tickled at Daniel, our little eater. He really liked the fair food. He ate and ate and ate. He had his first taste of funnel cake, which I think was his favorite, and fresh squeezed lemonade. We had a great time, even if we had to take out a second mortgage on our home to go...HA!

I had to end with this picture. Oh, the love! As if you couldn't tell from their expressions, I asked them to sit next to one another and put their arms around each other.

Decorated for Halloween

I thought I'd share a few pictures of our front porch all decorated for Halloween. I love this time of the year and was in the spirit to create a few new Halloween decorations this year. I painted the "Butler" sign with three little spiders that are suppose to be the kids. I also painted witch feet on two pumpkins (I saw this super cute idea in BH&G). I am a sucker for real pumpkins, and ones that are different. There is a great little produce stand here in Tallassee that had so many great ones this year. I also have the supplies to make really cute pumpkin pillows for the bench, but I'm not so sure that project will get completed this year. So just pretend they are there...ha!
Happy Fall!!

Daniel goes to School

Sweet, little DD started school this week. He looks like such a big boy with his backpack (it was sad saying bye-bye to the diaper bag). I have laughed because since school started back, I couldn't take Daniel in with me when I dropped Jack off in the mornings. Why, you wonder? Daniel pulled his first real temper tantrum the first week of school because he did not want to leave with me when I dropped Jack off. He would lay in the floor, cry and kick his feet because he knew he was missing out on all the fun. Funny, that I had one who cried because he didn't want to stay (Jack), and one who cried because he wanted to stay. Ironic, huh?

Daniel's first week went really well. We are still trying to work out not having a morning nap, but we'll get the hang of it in a few weeks (hopefully). Also, Jack didn't cry any of the mornings since Daniel started. I laugh and say he isn't jealous now because he knows Daniel is at school and not going home with me. To say I have enjoyed my few hours of "freedom" is putting it mildly! I love these boys, but I was in serious need of some quiet time!!

Ready for their first day of school together (I think Jack was more excited than Daniel)

See what I mean??

A Visit from the Firetruck

Last week the Tallassee Fire Department brought one of their firetrucks to Jack's school. Jack was so excited about this and asked about it for weeks. He has talked about them getting to blow the horn the most.

Thank you Ashley for sharing these sweet pictures with me! You're the best!

Toe's Baby Shower

My sister, Tori's (aka Toe Toe) baby shower was a few weeks ago at her friend Lauren's beautiful home in Birmingham. Tori's friends had done an amazing job and everyone had such a nice time. I think it is an understatement to say that I am beside myself that Toe will have a baby in just a few short weeks! I can not wait to get my hands on little baby Banks Johnston!! He will be one lucky little boy to have two wonderful parents.
On a side note, I didn't take pictures with my camera. Tori asked me to take pics with her camera, so I had to steal these pics from her blog and her friend Mary Catherine. You can see more pictures from the shower here on Tori's blog.

Tori opening the letters I painted for Bank's room

Georgie did a wonderful job of "showing" off the gifts to everyone after Tori opened them. She would hold them and walk around the room so everyone would see. The funniest was when she took the breast pads around for everyone to take a look at, clueless of what she had!

K-K Makes it Big!

Kami made her acting debut last month in the Wetumpka Depot Players' production of The Wedding from Hell. Kami played the bride, who comes from a red-neck family. Brad and Ashely Moon, friends of Kami's, were also in the play. It's funny because Brad played the groom, and Ashley played his mother! The family they portrayed were a wealthy, snobbish family. It was the funniest play and all three did an amazing job.

Did I forget to mention Kami played a pregnant bride??

Here's the scene where she reveals she's not really pregnant!
