Father/Daughter Dance

Saturday evening Georgia Anne went on her first date...with her Daddy.  There was a Father/Daughter dance here in Tallassee at the high school gymnasium and Michael was so glad he got to take Georgie.  She was so excited because she said it was like a prom for little girls.  :)

There was lots of food that little girls (and Dads) like to eat.
There was an old fashioned lead out.  Funny thing is when they arrived at the dance each girl had to register and tell a little bit about themselves.  Little did Georgie know it was the information they were going to use when introducing them during the lead out.  Most little girls hobbies included the usual: dancing, singing, playing with Barbies, etc.  Georgie's went a little something like this:  "This is Georgia Anne Butler, escorted by her father, Michael Butler.  Georgia is 9 years old and in the third grade.  Georgia's hobbies included jumping and playing."   HA!!  You should have seen the look on her face when they said it.  She said, "Oh my gosh...I didn't know they were going to read that!"

I love this picture!!
Sweet girls:  Georgia, Alison, Avery and Ava

They danced and danced!  Georgia was so proud she even got her wall-hugging Daddy to dance with her!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!  I wanted to give you a little peek at my Valentine's decorations.  It's not much, but just enough to spread a little love.
I painted this welcome sign last year.
My amazingly talented friend, Laura paints burlap door hangers and after seeing all her super cute designs I decided to tackle one myself.

I added this felt heart garland to the front porch.

I kept some of the same elements from my Christmas mantle but added some Valentine inspired accessories.

I thought I'd show you the Valentine's the kids and I made for their classes (thanks to Pinterest for the great inspiration).
